Things to Look for When Buying a New Vacuum

So it is time for you to buy a new vacuum because yours just doesn’t have as much power as it once used to. Which brand do you turn to? How much should you spend? It really depends on what you want out of your new vacuum cleaner. With so many brands, models and prices out there it is difficult to figure out which vacuum is right for you. Here are some things to look at when purchasing a vacuum.

 1. Reputation of Brand: You can  quickly do a handful of searches online and find out what others think of a certain brand of vacuum. If there are people who have had any bad experiences with a certain type of brand you will know very quickly. It is a great way to also find people who have been satisfied.

2. Budget:  When you start shopping around for a vacuum you will quickly find that certain brands can get very expensive. By isolating three or four vacuum models you can then research specific models to find which ones have features you are looking for. This will help you find the right vacuum for your home or work.

3. Ergonomics: Aside from price and brand you want to make sure the vacuum feels right when you are using it. If you are buying this for your home and you know that you will be the one using it on a weekly basis it is important to find one that is comfortable to hold. the last thing you want is your back or shoulder to start aching because the it doesn’t fit your body structure correctly.

4. Maintenance: Find out exactly how much maintenance goes into a specific model. Vacuums comes with bags, without bags and a wide range of filters. Whether you want to deal with emptying bags and throwing them out or just emptying out a canister filled with the dirt and dust will be a deciding factor for you.

5. Will it Fit?: This might seem like a small deciding factor but if you live in a smallstudio apartment with one closet it might be important for you to get some compact you can easily hide away under a bed or even under or behind a couch. Getting something that doesn’t fit in a closet very easily might not be the best idea unless you want to showcase it in your living room.
