Oreck vacuum cleaners is probably one of the best known brands of vacuums today. David Oreck founded the Oreck Corporation in the United States in 1963; they are located in Cookeville, TN.

Oreck orginially began manufacturing upright vacuum cleaners for the hotel industry in the U.S. Their motive was to “design a lightweight yet powerful and durable vacuum that hotel housekeepers would prefer to the very heavy models available to them.” (source) Well as you can image, they were very successful and then moved into selling vacuums to the general public.
